This 15 day trek to Rara Lake starts in Kathmandu with cultural sightseeing. Then, you fly to Nepalgunj and Jumla, which are the gateway to the Karnali region and the start of the trek.
The path from Jumla to Rara Lake goes through traditional villages, beautiful forests of pine, juniper, and spruce, and quiet alpine meadows. It's a great mix of nature and culture. Rara Lake is a top place for trekkers looking for an off-the-beaten-path adventure in Nepal. It is 2,990 meters above sea level and has crystal-clear blue waters, a clean environment, and stunning views of the Himalayas.
You will visit Rara National Park, which is one of Nepal's most protected and ecologically rich areas. It is home to wildlife like musk deer, Himalayan black bears, and many types of birds. Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where our representative greets you and transfers you to your hotel in Thamel. After check-in and some rest, you’ll have a short briefing about the trek, including route details and preparation. The rest of the day is free to explore the vibrant streets of Thamel.

After breakfast, you'll have a guided tour of Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, which include Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath, and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Take a scenic flight to Nepalgunj in western Nepal. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and relax. You may explore the local market in the evening.

We leave the Terai plains of Nepalgunj after breakfast and travel to Jumla, one of the least accessible areas in Nepal. Jumla is located at the foot of the Sisne Himalya and is also the starting point for trekkers who want to see the isolated Karnali region of Nepal.

Your trek begins from Jumla, following the Jugad River through villages and cultivated fields. The trail gradually ascends through forests to Chere Chaur, offering beautiful views of the surrounding hills.

Today you cross the scenic Ghurchi Lagna Pass (3,450m), one of the highest points of the trek, before descending through pine forests to Chalachaur.
